About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:
I am a multivisceral transplant recipient who recieved six organs: a new liver, pancreas, spleen, stomach, small and large intestine. I feel very blessed to be alive after my entire digestive tract had slowly over time started to not work from the esophagus to the stomach and then eventually to my bowels. The reason why is still unknown. I ended up on TPN which harmed my liver and made me become quite jaundiced. My doctors told me that I would probably soon die in my state but I was so fortunate that the doctors in Miami were willing to take my case and help me get a new chance at life. I feel so blessed and believe that without God I would not have made it through the long recovery. I was in the hospital from October 2005 to March 2006.

Wow 6 transplants very impressive. The Transplant Games were oin Louisville in 2006. If you get a chance you should research it with someone at your transplant facility to possibly go in 2010. I'm sure your story would be a huge imspiriation to others. Take care, Mike

Bobbiejo, I stand in awe. Six organs! The complexity of having them all work together is like having a musical sextet come together with no rehearsals.

I will forever think about the families that made the faithful decision that saved my life and the lives of other complete strangers. I do celebrate on the anniversaries but, I also mourn because of the loss that was e…
