Hi, Jessica. I recently joined Transplant Cafe. My daughter, who is now 9, received a double lung tx when she was 6 mos. old. She had her tx at Children's Hospital Boston, which used to be a great program. However, the team has changed and the program is now less than adequate, to put it nicely. Are you still at CHOP? How is it? Do you know Dr. Goldfarb? I spoke with him on the phone once, inquiring about the program, and he seemed so funny. I'd like to hear more about your experience with CHOP. Also, how have you been doing? It's such a great opportunity to finally meet other lung recipients!
Thanks, Stacey

Hi Jessica, Glad you wrote me back. Do you mind me asking why you had the lung and heart transplant. If you can tell me your story I mean. You are a beautiful young woman, with a whole life ahead of you. I am happy for you and hope you feel fine. When you said you have good days and bad what do you mean by that? Do you not feel well? Is it the medications? I am waiting to be listed Im finished with all my testing now. i have a two part class to attend and then the family meets with the doctor and then I guess I will be on the list. Is that how it goes? Is it real bad? Sorry about all the questions. I just want to be able to go for a walk or be able to do more than I can. Its so frusterating!!! Bye for now , Take care, Nancy

Hi Racheal-The best advice I can give you is when you are up to it to see a dietician. She helped me out and I even lost three pounds the healthy way. It's good to see one if you can anyhow as your diet needs have changed. Congratulations and best...

Thanksgiving Heart

We had a nice quiet thanksgiving, just three of us because the rest of the family live in Oklahoma.... But at 12:04 a.m. on Friday morning, we got the call! It only took us 24 minutes to get dressed, throw some things in a bag, get out of our gated parking area, drive 10 blocks or so, get ticket in the parking garage, park and get into the hospital up on the 7th floor at the nurses station. I think that was record time. Brady was pulling me in the garage trying to make me hurry, but I have arthr…
