Hello, Alan! I believe you have a hard time. Fortunately I was on priority transplant list so I was waiting for new liver only two months. These months were realy nightmare for me. I was weakened day by day and was not sure if I woke up next day. The transplantation brought me renewed quality of life. I got all former things back and piles of new of them. So just focus on moments you are living and will go on after transplantation.
Take care. Vanja

are there other transplant centers in the area? I live in Connecticut and we have Yale-New Haven Hospital and NY-Presbyterian. I went with NY-Presby because the week before my transplant they did their 1000th liver transplant. They know what they are doing. Research the other hospitals. You might need to travel a bit but it would be worth it. They had a patient that came in from Vermont when I was there

i'm Alan and 36 and I have been on the list since july 09 and have so many questions for those who have had Liver transplants and there post op experience and those who are in my shoes. I have Hep C from tatoo 20 years ago and meld score has been from 21 and now its 17 and it seems the better i take care of myself the lower my Meld gets and i want transplant while im healthy and not on deaths table before my time has come for transplant. Keeping in mind others needs are important too.

I will forever think about the families that made the faithful decision that saved my life and the lives of other complete strangers. I do celebrate on the anniversaries but, I also mourn because of the loss that was e…
