My Mar 18 of 1997 I was on life support and placed into a medicated coma. May 31, 1997 I recieved the gift of life. hey! i'm so sorry it's taken a while to reply! my family has been REALLY busy. anyways, yes i do know my donor family! i've been meaning to call them up actually. my mom really wanted to meet the family when i got my transplant, but the letters we sent to them never reached them. but my family who lives in orange county heard a story about a boy dying around the time of my transplant and that "his heart went to a 6-year old boy". my name is commonly used for indian boys! LOL! so anyways, they put 2 and 2 together. so after a while, we got help from a reporter and met the donor family. :) i honestly don't know how you could find out about meeting your donor family. i'm sorry. :(

i take 3.5mg of prograf twice a day. i had my transplant at the mayo clinic in jacksonville. i am feeling great, i am already back to work full time as a medical assistant! it is amazing how you dont realize how sick you are until you feel a million times better! i just had my one year check up and came back home with a good report so i am very blessed! how did you do after your transplant ? did you have any setbacks?

I had to have another transplant because the main artery from my first donated liver was too small and i kept getting blood clots. i had a surgery and they tried to fix it but blood clots kept forming so i had to go back on the list as status one. i agree with you, i am lucky to be alive, being sewn on the inside was just an added bonus! =) i hope all is well with you! and i hope that your mothers day wasnt too bad for you. i know how they can be......ttyl

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that this month is a double anniversary for me. On the 13th I will be 25 years out from my second kidney transplant. December, 25th will mark 30 years post first kidney transplant. It doesn't seem that its been that long ago,
